What languages can I learn with Reji?

Reji supports 48 languages, including Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Japanese, Korean, Chinese, Arabic, Hebrew, Hindi, Russian, Thai, Turkish, Dutch, Polish, Swedish and Swahili. You pick the language per deck.

Is Reji free?

Yes. Reji is free, with no subscription and no in-app purchases. The public decks on this site are free to study in any browser.

Where is the app?

The Reji iPhone app is being rebuilt from the ground up and will return to the App Store. Until then the public decks here work in any browser.

How does Reji decide when to show a card?

Reji uses spaced repetition. Each card gets its own review interval that grows every time you answer correctly and shrinks when you miss it, so you spend your time on the words you are about to forget.

How does Reji teach pronunciation?

Every card can be read aloud in the target language. Where the script needs it, Reji also shows a phonetic transcription or a transliteration, for example pinyin for Chinese.

Which languages have example sentences?

Reji fetches example sentences automatically for English, Arabic, German, Spanish, French, Hebrew, Italian, Japanese, Dutch, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian and Russian. For other languages you can add your own.

What does the dot on a deck mean?

A dot means the deck has cards due for learning or review. Once everything in the deck is learned, the dot becomes a tick.

Can I use Reji on more than one device?

Yes. Decks sync between your iPhone and iPad through iCloud, and they are restored automatically if you reinstall Reji on a device signed in with the same Apple ID.

What are public decks?

Public decks are vocabulary decks that Reji users and contributors have published on this site. You can study them in the browser, or open them in Reji to learn them with spaced repetition.

Is Reji available for Android?

No. Reji is an iPhone and iPad app.
