RemNote and Anki both do spaced repetition properly. The difference is where the cards come from. In Anki you make cards. In RemNote you take notes, and any line of a note can become a card with its context attached. That one design choice decides which app is right for you.

Making cards
In RemNote you write an outline of a lecture and mark a line as a flashcard with >> or a keystroke; the card keeps its place in the notes, so reviewing a card shows you where it came from. Anki has no notes; a card is a card, made by hand, from a shared deck, or by an add-on. For anatomy or law, where the source is a lecture, RemNote saves real time. For a word list, RemNote's structure is overhead.
Scheduling
Both keep a per-card long-term schedule. Anki's FSRS is more tunable and has a longer track record; RemNote's is good and mostly invisible. Neither will let you down if you review daily.

What Anki still does better
Image occlusion is unlimited and free in Anki; RemNote's free plan caps it at five. Anki's add-ons cover almost any workflow, its shared-deck library is far larger, and it works fully offline with no account. If you already have years of Anki history, nothing in RemNote is worth losing it for.
Verdict
RemNote if you take notes in class and want cards to fall out of them. Anki if you study from existing decks, need image occlusion, or want the most control over scheduling. For plain vocabulary neither is the quickest route; on iPhone, Reji makes those cards for you.
